SISTERS............

I have been blessed with 3 amazing sisters in my life. This picture is not the best of us but it is taken at a time that we were all going through stages of healing. We are all still on that road, some of us are further ahead on the road & some are having to be carried.

One summer while traveling home from Yellowstone my older sister & my youngest sister & I ver fighting in the car. My dad decided in order for us all to survive the 5 hour drive home he needed to be creative. He pulled over to the side of the road & told us to get out of the car & run to the bottom of the hill & back up 3 times. It was raining outside & we thought for sure this was a huge joke. He was serious. We were a bit shocked & got out of the car & began our punishment & by the time we were at the bottom of the hill we were laughing.

I share that story because I feel so often with my sisters that when things are rough we worry & rally together to help & bond together & there is great joy at the end. When this picture was taken though it was about 6 months after my brother had passed. All of us girls withdrew from each other at a time that we needed each other so badly. It took me a very long time to realize the gift that my sisters were in my life and that the saying "Time heals all pain" is so not true. No mater how much time passes it doesn't take the pain with it. It should be "The Attonement heals all pain" & yours sisters will help you through it. As I reflect on each of my sisters & their strength I am in awe. I am so blessed to have each of my unique sisters & the memories that we share.

I have only one sister, but I don't know what I would do without her. I am glad that you are able to be close and hopefully stay close. Friends are great, but there is no one who can understand like a sister. I hope that you all continue to heal to full recovery.

You're right in the 'time heals all wounds' statement.
You guys don't look a like at all.
It's great you have each other.
I'm sure grateful for my sister.

You are very lucky to have sisters that you are close to. I have 3 sisters and I don't feel like I can share things with them, but I do have some great friends that I can share anything with.

Great story. Great Dad to solve the problem by letting the sisters out to solve it themselves!

I, too, come from a family of four girls. We (just like the looks in your picture) are SO DIFFERENT... Even though we face life differently (and don't share everytihng, like Rashawn said) it is good to know a sister is there and able to call on.

Hi Leah. Maybe you don't remember me, but I have very fond memories of you and your family, and of Brandon in particular. I am so shocked and very saddened to just be learning of Brandon's passing. He meant a lot to me, as did the rest of your family. The Gospel is such a gift to have in your life in such difficult times of trial. It can be such a great source of comfort and reassurance that this life is not the end, but a new beginning. I too am grateful for the blessing to have known Brandon for the time I did. He was a tenacious spirit who loved life, and it was infectious. He made me feel so important, and I loved being with him. He had such a warmth about him, and beautiful and inviting smile that stretched from ear to ear. I know that I am not the only one that will miss him. Please email me and let me know what happened. My email address is angieandtrevorhelm@yahoo.com

Leah, I saw some of your family pictures from Devin's facebook page, and in looking through them, found out that Brandon had passed away. I was searching the internet trying to find any information that I could about what had happened, when your blog came up in that search. I am so happy that I found it. I would love it if we could keep in touch. I've missed you all a lot.
